Mortar Colors

Mortar is only a fraction of a wall's surface, but it changes how the whole thing reads. The same brick can look warm, crisp, or almost solid depending on the color you set it in.

Every sample below is laid with the same Covington brick, so the only thing changing from photo to photo is the mortar color. Scroll across to compare them side by side, and click any photo to enlarge it and step through the full set.

Colors vary — always confirm with a sample

Cured mortar rarely matches a photo exactly. The sand in the mix, how much water the mason uses, the temperature and humidity while it sets, and the tooling of the joint all shift the final color — and the brick it is laid against shifts how that color is read.

Before you order, confirm your choice against a physical sample or, better, a mock-up panel built with your actual brick.
